Expert advises people to keep workouts interesting02 Jan 2008
Women have been urged to take an adventurous approach to fitness in order to help them stick to their exercise plans in 2008.A recent survey conducted by YouGov and organic tea firm Good Earth found that 25 per cent of people will be vowing to get fit this year but some may find it difficult to stay motivated.Colleen Greene, wellness coordinator at the University of Michigan Health System in the US, recommends that people should consider trying new things to help keep their workout interesting and motivate them to keep exercising. "If you think Pilates is something for dancers only or if you think yoga means standing on your head, most gyms will have some sort of special drop-in rate for either the first week or first few sessions of a class.""Go ahead and try it you may find that you like it," she said. Making time to exercise can be a struggle for some but Ms Greene points out that the benefits are worth it, commenting: "Fitness is a time for you and a time to take care of yourself.""You will end up feeling good because youll be getting fit and feeling better," she added.
