Charity initiative launches 'fashion with a conscience' 16 Apr 2008
Cancer Research UK has launched an exclusive clothing collection in partnership with eco-couture designer reVamp, set to please environmentally-conscious fashionistas across the country. Due to go on sale in May this year, the new ethical fashion range consists of stylish garments and accessories recycled from stock donated to the charity's retail stores nationwide. Jen Ruppert, founder of reVamp, said: "We are really keen to highlight the benefits of reclaimed and vintage fashion through our new partnership with Cancer Research UK. "We aim to help lessen some of the environmental impact created by the fashion industry by sourcing existing materials to create our designs."Meanwhile, celebrity ethical designer Stella McCartney is set to debut the Eco-Collection in the UK this summer. "Eco-friendly fashion is something I've always felt strongly about," she said. " You should treat the design process and luxury quality element of the product in exactly the same way. You shouldn't have to sacrifice your style."Discuss this item in our forums
